Adventures await you.
Tracking rhinos across the Namib Desert. Exploring ancient temples in Sri Lanka and Thailand. Sliding into a crevasse inside a glacier in Alaska. Placing 37th in the 2013 US National Toboggan Championships. In my experience, adventures usually involve new places, new challenges, and new experiences, and the very best memories are often made when things did not go according to plan!
You don’t need to travel to far-off exotic destinations to be an explorer, however, and you don’t need to be a daredevil to take risks. I am not particularly reckless, clumsy or careless. Great experiences are what you make of them – they can occur anywhere and any time. By choosing to spend time outside, offline, and just a little bit out of your comfort zone, you can take an adventure today.
This website was created to share ideas, tips, and gear suggestions accumulated across my adventures. From a quick trail run close to home (near San Francisco in California, USA), to epic expeditions in backcountry wilderness, I hope to help other explorers plan their own adventures, whether that’s a camp-out in the backyard or a trek through the mountains.
A quick disclaimer: I can’t vouch for your intelligence or common sense, so please do not assume that your risk tolerance level is the same as mine. Use your own judgement to decide which activities you want to try, and to make your adventures as silly, difficult, scary, uncomfortable, or as dangerous as you want. With all that said, I strongly recommend you take some sensible safety precautions and respect local customs, cultures, and laws.
Have fun out there!
